First, define what the system must never do.
Every technology can serve different ends. These principles should protect humans, pluralism and the biosphere even when future tools become far more powerful than those of today.
Humanity becomes a gardener of the planet
We are neither outside nor above nature. We should protect, restore and wisely develop the living networks of which we are a part.
AI is not sovereign
The most important models should be an open common good. AI may advise, warn and audit, while legal responsibility remains with people and institutions.
The right to opt out
A person may reject the digital system, use simple documents and physical money, and still receive help. They retain the duty not to harm people, animals or the environment.
Value is not productivity
Food, education, healthcare, basic transport, water and energy cannot depend entirely on a person's economic usefulness.
Decisions require knowledge
Everyone should have access to a concise introduction, arguments from different sides, transparent sources and an honest account of uncertainty.
Reveal real costs
Prices and budgets should expose environmental, health and long-term costs without creating a universal score for a human being.
The internet leads to action
The best recommendation helps a person find people, a place and a project beyond the screen.
Conflict does not create a right to kill
Civilisation must build safe steps between disagreement and violence. Machine competition may be a transitional outlet, never a justification for conquest.
The war industry can build
Skills, infrastructure, modular systems, steel, robotics and logistics can serve rescue, food production, reconstruction and space technology.
Earth is the first habitat
Resilient food, water and energy modules must first increase security on Earth. Orbit, the Moon and Mars become later laboratories.
The ultimate objective is the endurance of life
A great achievement would be a multispecies ecosystem able to survive, grow, use local matter and create further habitats.
